December was a good test for my habits.

📝 Regular writing
I have struggled to write much over the festive period and it carried through to when I got back to work. However, it seems that I’m slowly getting back to it. I have also improved on the timing because now I’m writing in the mornings for about 30 minutes right after my morning rituals (exercise, shower, eat). I can do this daily, which means better consistency, which means it will be easier to maintain the habit. We’ll see!
🏋🏻 Conditioning sessions
After taking a break for 1 week I got back to training but dropped some conditioning session. I’m only training for the handstand now 2 days a week for 5 days in total. I really like my progress towards a handstand and the sessions are terribly hard, so it’s easy to maintain it. Not sure what will I do about the more strenuous conditioning sessions, which I want to get back to as well.
I had stopped meditating for about 3 weeks cause I didn’t feel like it. I felt bad about it, but it’s hard to say whether it was because I felt obliged to meditate or whether meditating actually made me feel better. I got back to it again though and will continue monitoring how I feel. I’ve started wondering whether meditation is right for me.
I’m confident that I can improve upon this habit in December.
Nope. I did not read instead of watching TV shows in December. Reading feels like a chore whereas watching TV shows feels like a reward. Don’t get me wrong, I do a lot of reading (on the train, back at home), but it’s not always “book reading” and definitely not “instead of TV shows”. I’m also not sure whether reading can be my downtime. Right now I’m going at it simply using my willpower and I don’t always have enough after a day at work. I probably need to change my tactics and/or mindset. Will think more about it this month.
🌙 Sleep patterns
This is a new habit that I haven’t written about, but basically it started after one of the calls I had with my brother. He started using this app called SleepTown which allows you to build virtual houses while you sleep. The first time I heard about it I didn’t try it, but 2 weeks ago I gave it a shot and since then I’m sleeping a lot more regularly. I’ve also started getting out of bed early (somewhere between 5:30 and 6:00) like I used when I was younger. So far I’m really happy with the change and plan to continue doing it. Blasting my eyes artificial light emanating from my phone gave me that extra kick I needed in the morning to get out of bed.
- 🙆🏻♂️ Morning stretch sessions 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).
🙆🏻♂️ Morning stretch sessions
This habit feels easy - I don’t need to spend much mental energy doing it. I’m happy about it.
